Our Story
A life long conservationist, owner Chuck Nelson has always had a passion for quality deer management. His passion has become our passion for growing quality, monster whitetails. With over 300 acres of land dedicated to this endeavor since 2008, our quality deer management continues to result in monster trophy whitetails. In 2019, we expanded into a professional hunting and whitetail genetics operation, ensuring a legacy of quality whitetail hunting for generations to come.
Company Vision
Quality is our standard. Whether you are looking for an epic hunting adventure, or looking to improve and diversify the genetics in your whitetail herd, Rush Canyon Ranch offers a quality solution for both. For our fellow hunters, we stock a variety of typical and non-typical whitetails for diverse hunting experiences to provide every hunter with their dream buck. And we make sure your stay at our full-service lodge provides a private, relaxing retreat for you and your hunting party. For our fellow whitetail breeders, we offer a diverse option of typical and non-typical genetics from some of the best bloodlines in the industry. Whether you are here for a hunt or to grow your herd, our goal is to provide you with a quality experience here at Rush Canyon Ranch.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide a challenging but natural hunting experience to hunters on our preserve. We do this by practicing quality deer management, breeding with the top genetics in the industry to provide typical and non-typical trophy whitetails, and providing an experience that the whole family can share.

Owner
Chuck Nelson
"I’ve had a lifelong passion for hunting and for quality deer management. A few years ago now, I had the vision to build something really special. I wanted to see healthy, mature, trophy whitetail thrive, so I put in the work. Not an easy task but by improving the habitat, focusing on strong genetics, and fencing in the property, that vision became a reality. Watching the herd grow and reach its full potential has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. I take real pride in sharing that success with others."

"Whitetails and hunting have been a family love and tradition my whole life. It is a great honor for me to work the family ranch. To do something I am proud of every day. And to work with people I am proud to call family. The Rush Canyon Ranch crew operates like one big family. To us this isn’t just a job, it’s a shared passion for herd health, CWD resistant genetics, and quality animals to show for it. Hunting is the icing on the cake for me. I am filled with gratitude and solomn respect for the animals that we care for, and that in turn, provide sustenance for us. This is the mindset that I am proud to share with everyone that I meet."

"I’ve been hunting for as long as I can remember. It’s a passion that started with my dad and it has turned into something that I’ve carried with me ever since. I still remember the adrenaline and excitement of getting my first deer, that feeling never really leaves you. Now, as a guide, my goal is to help others experience that same rush, connection to the outdoors, and real love for the hunt."
